You Reap What You Vote

Who is going to represent you for the next two years -- or six? How much does it matter?

Senate chambers dc

The Historic Senate Chambers

Ten days from now we get the chance to vote.

"Let each citizen remember at the moment he is offering his vote…that he is executing one of the most solemn trusts in human society for which he is accountable to God and his country" (Samuel Adams).

Who are you going to vote for?

The republican because you are a republican? The democrat because you are democrat?

The one who claims to be conservative -- with the golden waves of grain and an American flag blowing in the advertising background?

The lesser of two evils?

Do you know who you are voting for?

Are you voting for someone who voted to continue secret courts?

Voted to continue locking up prisoners without lawyers?

Voted against inspecting the Federal Reserve to see what guides their currency manipulations and what secret loans are made to companies and countries?

That passed a bill that allows doctors and bureaucrats to take guns from individuals?

That enabled government and business to swap information without warrant?

That sent us to Middle Eastern war with a half hour deliberation -- and sneaked it through in a budget bill?

That's just the past year and a half.

Please do two things, while you have the time (we don't mean the few minutes to do it; we mean before it is too late).

One: Know who you are voting for. If it is a current legislator, just click through the "Current Actions" links on the left. Scroll down each page to the letters that indicate how your legislators voted on each. You must know. This is what part of what this Loyal 9 movement is about. We have worked together to amass the data. Will it make a difference?

Two: Leverage your knowledge by waking up others. Once you know, spread the word, good or bad. Tell the truth through social media. Get it out to your local community as well. Send a letter to the editor to your local papers, big and small.

Samuel Adams: "If the citizens neglect their duty and place unprincipled men in office, the government will soon be corrupted; laws will be made, not for the public good so much as for selfish or local purposes; corrupt or incompetent men will be appointed to execute the laws; the public revenues will be squandered on unworthy men; and the rights of the citizens will be violated or disregarded."

Uh-oh

And now there are two (er, three?). Did it matter which? After watching the debates, it seems being AGAINST Liberty is now a campaign technique. And the winners are . . . (not the Bill of Rights).

To those who think the UN Treaty could never override laws in the US: "When talking about how sometimes international law trumps even state law, one example is that an additive to gasoline was seeping into California's water supply contaminating it but California could not pass laws to remove the additive due to some by-law in NAFTA."
